T. Rowe Price Names Eric Veiel Head of Global Investments

T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. has announced that Eric Veiel, the Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Equity, will assume the position of Head of Global Investments, effective from January 1, 2024. This role was previously held by Rob Sharps, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. Veiel, with over two decades of experience at T. Rowe Price, will now oversee the firm's global investment activities and contribute to shaping its investment strategy.

Eric Veiel has a wealth of experience within T. Rowe Price, having served in various roles, including co-director of Equity Research for North America and co-portfolio manager of the U.S. Structured Research Equity Strategy. His expertise extends to portfolio management, with a focus on the Financial Services Equity Strategy, and leadership positions within different committees. In his current capacity as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Global Equity, he holds key roles in steering committees and has contributed significantly to the company's investment management strategies.

Josh Nelson, who serves as the Head of U.S. Equity, and Justin Thomson, Chief Investment Officer and Head of International Equity, will continue reporting to Eric Veiel in his new role as Head of Global Investments. The heads of each investment division will maintain their positions on the Management Committee, ensuring a cohesive leadership structure within the firm's investment operations.

In his expanded role as Head of Global Investments, Eric Veiel will also oversee T. Rowe Price Investment Management (TRPIM), which operates independently from other T. Rowe Price-branded investment advisers. Steph Jackson, Head of TRPIM, will report to Eric on business and administrative matters affecting the T. Rowe Price advisers. Eric will work towards more efficient resource allocation, improved coordination, and the sharing of investment best practices, talent management, and capability enhancement across the organization. He will maintain his position on the Management Committee and report to Rob Sharps, Chief Executive Officer and President of T. Rowe Price Group.
